Thank you everyone who has helped me on my road to full recovery. To the Doctors, Practitioners, Surgeons, Radiologists (radiation therapy), Oncologists, Nurses (my angels) and all medical staff. To the Natural healers, massage therapists, acupuncture people, friends and family. As you can see a lot of people helped me along the way and I quite often joke “If someone had given me some “magic beans” I would have tried them too”. For me it was give it all you’ve got.
What’s the alternative? There is none, so no deal!
In addition to people and books and CD’s helping me, the biggest change was in me. You know the old saying “For things to change you have to change first” and that is what I did. I was at first angry, then guilty, then a very short period of feeling sorry for myself and then a breakthrough.
Get over yourself and start thinking of others.
Cancer has changed me, it has made me a much softer person and nicer to be around. So in a way Cancer cured me and I beat it. I enjoy life. I laugh a lot. I keep healthy, I eat well and I keep my attitude always in a positive mood.
However, the main point of my input here is to brag about my awesome family.
Firstly the animals Jack the cat, Jesse the dog and Climey the kitten, our new addition, always present with the moment and everyday is a new day. Lets go!!!!
They always make you laugh. Animals are an essential part of any healing. Get one or two or even three!!!
Secondly my two beautiful daughters and they are beautiful. One so different from the other, yet so alike in many ways. Some days, sure it was touch and go and I felt like crap. So what got me up and at it was how tough it would be for my girls to cope without me. We are very close and me not being a part of their lives was also a “no deal”. They bought me love and laughter every week.
Jodie would drive over 130 kms every week and spend time with me; feeding ducks at the lake then drive another 100 km to our home and spend the night with Lee. Next day she would leave home at
Lastly and most importantly to my beautiful wife Lee. Wow what a woman. I can honestly say I would not be here today without Lee. Why – because she told me “you’re not going anywhere boy” and I’m a smart enough man to know not to disagree with your wife ever!
As I said earlier we are a close knit family and Lee was all of it. I really admire her as a person and especially as a Mother of our girls and as an awesome wife and friend. We have been married over 26 years and I am still in love with the same girl.
So thank you Lee. This book is about me but it is Lee who got me through. So if you want someone you know who wants to beat cancer, mix attitude, environment and nutrition together with love, family and friend take 24 hours a day with water (or a little red wine) and live a fantastic life.
